Under California law, every automatic fire sprinkler system must undergo a five-year certification performed by a licensed C-16 fire protection contractor. This certification confirms that your system has been inspected, tested, and maintained in full compliance with NFPA 25 and the California Code of Regulations, Title 19.

🔧 What Our Five-Year Certification Includes

During your five-year fire sprinkler inspection and testing, our specialists will:

• Perform a Main Drain Test to record static, residual, and restored pressures.
• Activate the Inspector’s Test Valve to verify alarm bell operation and document alarm monitoring activity.
• Operate and test all control valves, ensuring they are functional and secured from tampering.
• Conduct a visual inspection of pipes, fittings, sprinkler heads, hangers, and seismic bracing for corrosion, damage, or obstructions.
• Verify that periodic UL laboratory testing of sprinkler heads has been completed as required.
• Confirm proper sprinkler coverage throughout the premises.
• Ensure the presence of required signage per local jurisdiction.
• Perform a backflush by reversing the check valve at the fire department connection.
• Complete and provide detailed state-approved reports (AES-2) or jurisdiction-specific forms.
• Supply a compliance report for your records.

Upon successful completion of the inspection and verification that your system meets NFPA 25 and Title 19 standards, our technicians will affix a certification label to each tested system.

If any deficiencies are identified during testing, certification will be temporarily withheld until necessary corrections are made by the property owner or tenant. Once compliance is achieved, full certification will be granted.
