About Sam K., Founder of Spectrum Fire Protection
Sam K. founded Spectrum Fire Protection in Orange County in 1987. He startedthe company with a clear belief: that commercial fire protection is one of the most important trades in the construction industry, because the work directly affectswhether buildings, businesses, and the people inside them can be protected when afire starts. Building a contractor capable of doing that work properly became hismission, and he has spent the last 39 years working toward it.
Today, Sam leads Spectrum's team across every fire protection service the companyoffers: sprinkler systems, fire alarms, extinguishers, suppression systems, firepumps, and hydrants. He stays personally involved in the work that matters most.He oversees major projects, reviews submittals before they go to OCFA and otherauthorities, mentors his technicians, and meets with the fire marshals whosestandards Spectrum's work has to meet. After nearly four decades in the trade, hisjudgment on a fire protection project is still the judgment customers come toSpectrum for.
Sam has been able to build Spectrum into what it is today in large part because ofthe people who have stood beside him. His family has supported him throughout theentire journey, from the company's earliest years to its current position as one ofOrange County's longest-running fire protection contractors. His team is the secondpart of that foundation. Sam believes the people who do this work deserve to betreated like the skilled professionals they are, which is why Spectrum pays itssubcontractors significantly above industry standard and invests in the long-termcareers of its technicians.
What Sam cares about most is the work itself. He has built Spectrum around a fewprinciples that have not changed in 39 years: that every customer matters equallyregardless of project size, that pricing should be honest and transparent from thefirst phone call, that work should be done right the first time, and that if a customer isnot happy with the result, Spectrum makes it right at no charge. These are notslogans. They are how Sam runs the company every day, and they are whycustomers keep mentioning the same things about Spectrum's work over and overagain, year after year.
That kind of continuity is rare in fire protection contracting, and Sam stayed in the trade by choice. That is why the people who know him in Orange County's fire protection community know exactly what to expect from his work.
Spectrum Fire Protection At a Glance
"There is no customer too small and no customer too big. If a customer isn't happy with our work, we'll redo it at no charge. We just ask for the first chance to fix it. That's how we've operated since 1987.
What 39 Years Has Built
Spectrum Fire Protection's mission is to provide commercial property owners with the best fire protection services possible, at fair and competitive prices, backed by warranty. Every customer gets the same standard, whether you're a multi-site portfolio owner or a single-restaurant operator.
But the part of Sam's reputation that matters most to customers issimpler than any of that. He shows up. He does what he says. He stands behind the work. When something needs his attention, he gives it his attention personally.
That is why customers who use Spectrum for one building tend to useSpectrum for every building they own afterward. It is why businessowners refer Spectrum to other business owners in their network. Andit is why the reviews customers leave about Spectrum mention thesame things over and over again, year after year: fair pricing, fastresponse, honest communication, and work done correctly the first time.
Sam's team has served projects ranging from single-extinguisherservice calls to multi-million dollar commercial installations. Spectrumhas worked on hotels, restaurants, hospitals, schools, manufacturingfacilities, warehouses, and apartment complexes across every city inOrange County, and many beyond it. Each one of those projects wasguided by the same standard Sam set in 1987.
"Your Fire Safety Solution."

No subcontracting around problems. No "that's not our department." Just your complete fire safety solution.
The State of California Asked Sam to HelpShape the Exam Other Contractors Have toPass
The California C-16 Fire Protection Contractor License is the credential every commercial firesprinkler contractor in the state must hold. Sam serves on the committee that helps shape thelicensing exam that aspiring contractors have to pass to earn it.
It is one of the most respected positions a working fire protection contractor in California can beinvited into. Most contractors who hold a C-16 license will never see the inside of thatcommittee room. Sam helps decide what is on the test their license depends on.
He is also an active member of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), the bodywhose codes form the basis of every fire marshal inspection in California, and Spectrum hasbeen BBB A+ Accredited continuously since the day the company first applied.
